As the name suggests is the region of Westpoint the “end of Curacao” on the west side of Curacao. The distance is 45 km to Willemstad and the distance to Hato airport is approximately 36 km on the road.
Westpoint is a sparsely populated area with great attention to nature. Whether it’s the nature above or below water. At Playa Piscado you can buy fresh fish daily and on Sunday there will be all sorts of activities like selling local meals and cold beer! Also, you can have lunch at restaurant Jaanchies in Westpoint In Jaanchies ithe traditional cuisine of Curacao wil be presented to you on artistic way; through singing the menu!!!!
In the neigbourhood of Westpoint you will find the Christoffel mountain. The top of the mountain is 377 metres high and gives a beautiful view over the biggest part of Curacao. The Christoffel mountain is the the highest point of Curacao. You can climb the mountain but start in good time before it gets too hot and get plenty of drink (water no beer!). The park is open from 7:30 am and on Sundays from 6 am. It is also possible make tours by car in the Christoffelpark. You can make the tours on your own or with an experienced park-ranger. If you drive about 10 kilomtres in the direction of Willemstad you will find the natural park of Boca Shete. You will see the breaking waves against the rocky coast and there are rock drawings made by Indians (the original inhabitants of Curacao).
Shopping at West point is actually not possible. There are a few “Sneks” where you can buy cans of drinks and cigarettes.. For daily shopping you can visit the village of Barber that is situated on 10-15-minute driving from Westpoint.
Westpoint is an oasis of beauty, nature and tranquility.
